É na Cidade do Cartaxo que vai surgir o novo Torneio de Futebol Sub-11, “Elite Cup – Cartaxo”.
Durante os dias 22, 23 e 24 de Junho, no Estádio Municipal da Cidade, irão ser disputados mais de meia centena de jogos por mais de 240 crianças com idades a rondar os 11 anos.
Ainda que sendo uma estreia, são já 20 equipas as que não querem perder esta primeira oportunidade, das quais se destacam o Sport Lisboa e Benfica, o Sporting Clube de Portugal, o Sporting Clube de Braga e o Boavista Futebol Clube. Destaque ainda para a participação da equipa espanhola da Extremadura, que ao integrar a lista de participantes, internacionaliza a dimensão desta competição. A representação das equipas da casa é levada a cabo pelo Estrela Futebol Clube Ouriquense e pela Escola de Futebol de Pontével.
O “Elite Cup – Cartaxo” é um projeto a longo prazo, que pretende tornar a cidade do Cartaxo numa referência neste tipo de atividades desportivas.
